Kezia first met Risha Zoras on Naboo, a little under a year after the Jedi Massacre.
Kezia had been travelling across the planet, taking on small jobs and slowly building herself up, when a particularly strong storm hit. She had been in the Lake District at the time, on a gradual path to Theed, where she hoped to find more work. Taking shelter in a cave, she had waited for the storm to pass, and had eventually fallen asleep.
When she awoke she felt immensely warmer, and had instinctively pulled the covers closer to her, before remembering that she was supposed to be on the cold floor of a cave.
It turned out that Risha had found her at the cave's mouth and taken her into the empty Jedi temple. Kezia had thanked her before Risha revealed Kezia's formerly unknown Force sensitivity.
With nowhere better to be she had stayed with Risha and became her (overgrown) Padawan, helping to build up the Order and eventually being knighted by her master three years after her training had begun.
